Our story

Built for the parent
running the school.

Homeschooling is one of the most intentional things a family can do. Your tools should match your intention.

Why we built this

The problem was hiding
in plain sight.

The average homeschool family has two or three children, each using multiple curricula at once, often blending programs across subjects. They track all of it with spreadsheets, paper planners, sticky notes, and memory. Not because they prefer it that way. Because nothing better exists.

The tools that do exist are either gradebook software dressed up as planners, or simple checklist apps that ignore the real complexity of how families actually teach. None of them are built around the way homeschool parents actually think: holistically.

We built MySyllabus to close that gap. Not a gradebook. Not a checklist. A real operating system for the modern homeschool family, built from the ground up around how parents plan and run their schools.

That means tracking multiple children and multiple curricula per subject. It means seeing whether you are on pace for the year without doing math in your head. It means arriving at the end of the school year with documentation already done, not scrambling to reconstruct what you taught. And it means having a community of parents who think like you do, sharing what works.

You are running a school. You deserve tools that treat you like it.

MySyllabus

What makes us different

Six things we believe
about building this.

01
The parent is the expert
MySyllabus is infrastructure, not instruction. It gives you visibility, organization, and documentation. You make every educational decision.
02
You're the teacher
MySyllabus organizes and tracks. It doesn't tell you how to teach, what to value, or whether you're doing it right.
03
Built for real families
Illness weeks, travel months, rabbit-hole detours. Real homeschooling is beautifully messy. MySyllabus shows you what you have accomplished, and keeps you aware of what needs attention.
04
Curriculum-agnostic
Charlotte Mason or Classical or totally eclectic. We build for how families actually homeschool, not how institutions think they should.
05
Privacy first
Your children's learning records are deeply personal and private. We store only what is necessary, share nothing, and will never sell your data or use it to train AI models.
06
Beauty matters
You have made a beautiful choice in how you're raising your family. The tools you open every morning should feel worthy of that. MySyllabus is designed to be a pleasure to use.
Our approach

How MySyllabus thinks
about tracking.

The organizing unit

Subjects, not books.

Most tools track by curriculum, one row per book. But families don't think in books, they think in subjects. MySyllabus organizes everything under the subject, letting you layer as many curricula underneath as you use. History is one subject whether you're using one book or five.

Are we on pace?

The semester bar shows two things at once: how far you have gotten through the material, and where you are in the school year. If your bar leads the week marker, you're ahead. If it trails, you know early, not in a panic at year-end.

Goal tracking

Mastery, not grades.

MySyllabus doesn't do grades. It tracks mastery on a simple three-step scale: Emerging, Developing, and Confident. You update it by tapping. No rubrics, no percentages. Your judgment as the teacher is the record.

Multiplication facts 1–12
Developing

Emerging

The community layer

Discovery and execution
in one place.

Choosing curriculum is one of the hardest parts of homeschooling. Most parents spend hours in Facebook groups, reading conflicting forum threads, buying something that doesn't work, and switching mid-year. The research problem is enormous and largely unsolved.

MySyllabus fixes this with the community platform. Real parents share reviews of individual curricula. Experienced families publish full curriculum stacks, complete approaches for a specific child, methodology, or situation. You browse, save, and when you find something you want to use, clicking it flows directly into your tracker, pre-configured and ready.

Discovery and execution are one motion. That's the thing no other platform has built.
